Free Write Friday

So in keeping with my usual trends I am a bit late with posting this but here is my contribution to Kellie Elmore's free write friday writing prompt. With the 4th of July as inspiration (I assume) this weeks FWF task was to think Freedom so here goes what I came up with.

There are times when I wonder whether or not I'd truly been released from captivity

He let go but I think I may have remained inside the space we'd both once occupied and now I'm not quite sure what to believe

I am no longer his, not anyone's and yet I find myself begging freedom to come back to me, to unlock the steel cage around my heart and erase all records of imprisonment masquerading around as love

There are no words for it, no way to make this make sense...so I won't try, I'll just keep wondering...
