The Limits...
As a kid, did you ever walk the lines of the road, one foot in front of the other in a balancing act
pretending you were miles above the ground
one misstep and it's over?
It felt like you had the entire world
watching you from below
waiting to see if you'd fall
arms out to keep upright
It didn't matter that the imaginary rope
you were walking gave way to more standing room
what mattered is that you tried your hardest
to keep going forward, it was important
Was it practice?
Were we trying to figure out how much
of a chance of survival we'd have
as if we are testing ourselves?
Maybe.
Or maybe were just being kids
doing what kids do
testing limits before we even knew what limits were.
