Reconnect with Your Writing
in a Supportive, Low-Pressure Space

Write Start is a 4-week workshop for writers feeling that new year energy but not wanting to feel pressured to write every day, hit word counts, or finish a book in 30 days. With thoughtful challenges, reflections, and live sessions, we’ll focus on reconnecting with your dreams, celebrating small steps, and nurturing your unique process in a supportive, welcoming space—together, in community.

Event Descriptions

Reel to Real: Reimagining Our Stories
Facilitated by Nikki Gray
Instead of setting goals or resolutions, what if we reimagined our story? Using film moments as creative mirrors, we’ll explore what it means to hold the pen, even when the plot twists.

Don’t Make Me Choose: Braided Work
Facilitated by Priscilla Thomas
Explore the braided lyric essay in this workshop, where we'll look at examples of this experimental form in action and try out a variety of prompts to start braiding our own work.

If It Sucks, Don’t Tell Me: Giving & Receiving Feedback
Facilitated by Talicha J.

If It Sucks, Don’t Tell Me is a 2-hour workshop that teaches writers how to give and receive feedback with curiosity and compassion.

One Size Doesn’t Fit All
Facilitated by Nikki, Priscilla, & Talicha J.
In this panel, we’ll discuss discovering your unique process as a creative and rejecting what doesn’t work for you.

  1. Do I need to attend every live session?
Nope! Come to the sessions you can. All live workshops will be recorded and shared with Full Experience participants.

  2. Do I have to write every day?
Absolutely not. Write Start is designed to help you reconnect with your creative practice without pressure, word counts, or daily commitments.

  3. Would I be a good fit for this space?
Write Start is a great fit if you want to begin the year with intention, creativity, and support—not pressure. It’s designed for writers who are looking to reconnect with their practice, set meaningful goals, explore new ideas, and build momentum without having to commit to daily writing or rigid expectations.

  4. I’m not working on a big project—can I still participate?
Yes. You do not need to have a project underway. Many writers use Write Start to rediscover their voice, experiment, or reconnect with their creative self after a pause. No pressure, no prerequisites—just space to explore.

  5. What kind of writing is welcome?
All kinds. Poetry, fiction, essays, hybrid work, journaling, personal reflections, or anything in between—Write Start focuses on nurturing your creative process, not requiring a specific form.

  6. Will I receive feedback or critique on my writing?
Write Start is a generative space, not a critique workshop. Sharing is welcome, but there is no formal feedback requirement.

  7. What if I can’t start on January 4th or join late?
You can join anytime. If you sign up after Write Start begins, you’ll receive access to all emails and recordings that have already been shared.

  8. What if I choose the Emails Only option—will I miss important content?
You’ll still receive weekly audio reflections and challenges and can participate at your own pace. Emails Only simply does not include digital downloads, live workshops, or community spaces.

  9. Is there financial flexibility?
Yes. We offer tiered pricing and payment plans through Afterpay or Klarna at checkout. If you need something else, reach out and we can talk.

  10. Can I join from outside the US?
Yes. Sessions are scheduled in North American time zones, but international writers are welcome. If you're unsure about timing, feel free to reach out.
